Guest post: Etsy Shop, Tender Tree Huggers

Hey everyone! Today I have a guest post from an Etsy shop! Her shop is called Tender Tree Huggers and today I'm featuring two of her items.  Here ya go:

"There are many interests, virtues and traits that make a person who they are. Some may lie slightly dormant, a ghost to onlookers, while others flare with a passion. Modesty is a virtue that I hold close to my heart. Modesty is something that I’ve felt is so important to express and teach to my children that, with so little options available to us in the retail market, sewing our own clothing was a necessity. I began with absolutely no experience whatsoever, even learning to thread the machine was a feat all on its own.
Sewing quickly became a sincere enjoyment. Searching out old, outgrown clothing and turning it into something new and usable became a game of mine. Eventually though my family was adequately clothed and my beloved sewing machine sat with no cloth to bless its threads upon. When I realized that I could spread the message of modesty and put my passion of sewing back into practice, I jumped on the opportunity. An Etsy shop to display my latest creations was the answer. I love that I can make modest clothing for girls with such a fun and whimsical flair. "

Here's one of her skirts she's selling.

Let's save the Amur Leopards!!

Hey everyone!
I'm so sorry it's been a little while since I've posted. About a week....
I've been incredibly busy with school, and all sorts of things! But I do have something to share with you.
I just started a petition to save the Amur leopards...there are only 350 left of them! Some different sites say there are only 30 left!!
Every single signature counts. I need 100,000 signatures in just 30 days for the White House to l0ok at it! It would mean a lot to me if you checked it out! These beautiful creatures are so close to extinction just because of people hunting them for their furs...
I included the link below:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/103/162/569/save-the-critically-endangered-amur-leopards/
If it doesn't work, let me know. ;)
Here are a few pics and facts about Amur Leopards.
The Amur leopards live in southeastern Russia and northeast China.

They are also threatened by human induced fires and new roads.

They have been classified critically endangered by the IUCN (Internation Union for Conservative of Nature) since 2007.

Thank you guys SO much for reading this!
Please share so we can get as many signatures as possible in 30 days! :)
Have a great day!

No Kid Hungry! Wear Orange!

Hey everyone!
So this October 29th, I have some special plans that I would love it if you would join me!
I am going to dress in orange...now you may be wondering why I'm doing that.
Orange is the colour for No Kid Hungry, an organization working towards feeding hungry children. So I'm going to be wearing it to show my support for them. :)
I chose this date, so it's not an official No Kid Hungry support day, but I am trying to get as many people as I can to wear orange that day.
Please share! :)
You can visit their site at nokidhungry.org
I've been really thinking about it lately, and I realize, the world has plenty of food for everyone to eat, but that food isn't shared with others that need it.
About 40% of food in America is wasted, and 1 out of 5 American children are hungry.
Isn't that sad?
So please wear orange that day! Even if it's as simple as an orange belt or bracelet.

Thank you!
:)
Have a great day!

My view on Modesty/ Skirts

Hey everyone! So today, I am going to share with you my view on modesty and a few of my skirts I wear!
So modesty is very important in my family. For example, no tank tops or skirts above your knees. We enjoy making our own skirts and some of our pajamas. (I have an Etsy shop interview coming up soon! She sells cute clothing for toddlers, so keep a look out for that! ;))
So here's my first skirt: (Please excuse the fact that some of these photos are blurry...that's what happens when you take pictures with your phone :))

This is one of my favourite skirts. If I remember correctly, I got it from Old Navy's clearance shelf.
It's really cool though, because like a year ago I realized it was on a cover of a book:

:)

I really like this skirt too. It's a little blurry, so I'll try to post another picture of it another time.
I like all the different colours. :)

This one is one of my favourite skirts too.
It reminds me of the night sky. :)

So did you guys enjoy this post? If you guys like it I'm thinking about posting some more of my outfits :)
What are your guys' views on modesty?
Have a great day!!!

So let's jump right in!!

Hi Jessica Joy, and thank you for stopping by Lilies of Grace!
So let's get started!

1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I can! Haha My name is Jessica Joy, but sometimes I call myself Jess. I'm fifteen and a half, and round my height up to 5 ft 4in. I love writing, reading, and words in general. I'm a natural born leader, so I have to remind myself not to become bossy. I have two little siblings who I adore, and I like baking. I'm in 10th grade, home schooled, and a Christian. My LORD is my everything. I love music, and Beauty and the Beast. It's my favorite movie. I'm pretty bubbly, and love to meet and be around people! =D
2. What's your favourite food in the whole world?
Lasagna! I have it every year on my birthday =)
3. If you had to read only one book for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?
The Bible, most definitely. I wouldn't have it any other way. =)

4. What's your favourite ice cream flavour?
Just plain ol' chocolate =)
5. If you were stuck on a remote island for a year, what one item would you want to have with you(other than food and water.)?
One of my best friends. =) I would never get bored! (Don't make me pick which friend, though!!)

6.What's your favourite animal?
Dogs. =) I love my pooch. Giraffes are my favorite wild animal =)
7. If you could paint a picture of any scenery you've been before, what would you paint? Wow, what an awesome question! I would say the pink and orange sunset over our farm. =)
8. If you could witness any event past, present, or future, what would you choose? Hmmmm..... I really don't know....
9. What's your proudest achievement?
Probably finishing my first ever book. I'm sure I have others, but that all I can think of
10. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully married, published, and serving the LORD. =)
Thank you so much for answering these questions!
Thank you! I enjoyed them very much!
